Well done to our Girl’s Soccer teams who took part in the FAI soccer competition in Killarney recently. The girls gave their all and played brilliantly throughout the day. One of our teams ended up winning the competition and will now progress to the County Finals!!

Well done to our boys and girls football teams who took part in the Castleisland District Mini 7’s in Knocknagoshel recently. Both teams played brilliantly with the boys making it to the quarter final and the girls winning the competition!! Photos of the teams available here

Well done to our 5th and 6th Class boys who took part in the FAI soccer in Tralee today. Both teams gave their all in some very exciting matches! Well done to all involved.

We celebrated World Book Day with a host of brilliant reading activities in Scartaglen N.S. including reading with our Reading Buddies in Junior Infants.

1st/2nd Class got their Intellino train driving licenses recently. They have been learning how to program their trains to move around the tracks they have created!

Congratulations to our 6th Class who made their Confirmation in Castleisland today.

Our wonderful Parents’ Council provided pancakes for every child in the school on Pancake Tuesday in aid of Recovery Haven Kerry. You can see some photos of this event here .

Well done to all of our 2nd Class students on receiving the sacrament of penance today in Scartaglen Church. Thanks to Ms. McCarthy and Katie for all the work preparing for today’s ceremony and to Mr. Kelliher and the choir for the lovely music. Thanks also to Fr. Sean.

Congratulations to our Junior and Senior Quiz teams who took part in the Credit Union Quiz in the MTU in Tralee recently. Both teams performed brilliantly with the Junior team qualifying for the next round by finishing in 2nd place. Well done to all!!

Scartaglen NS were excited and honoured to support the Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal. As a school, we collected 109 shoeboxes in total, a testament to the generosity and community spirit that we are very fortunate to have in Scartaglen. The 6th class played a leading role in organising, promoting and collecting the shoeboxes and it was fantastic success overall.

Today the 6th Class cycled all the way from Scartaglen NS to Castleisland town. They cycled 20km on the main road and did so with excellent care and maturity. It marks the end of the Cycle Right programme with Wheelie Good Academy from Pat Clifford and Connor Gleeson. It was a massive achievement, a day to remember and we are very proud of how they conducted themselves out on the main road.

We took part in a ‘Park and Stride’ for National Walk to School Week.

We said a fond farewell to Catherine on Friday as all of the classes presented her with some lovely messages and gifts!
