Science Blast 2026

Well done to our 5th and 6th Class pupils who proudly represented Scartaglen National School at Science Blast. The pupils worked very hard preparing, investigating and presenting their projects. 6th Class explored the question, “How does the type and thickness of insulation material affect heat loss in a model house?” They tested different materials and thicknesses to discover which insulators helped to keep heat in most effectively. 5th Class investigated the fascinating world of optical illusions and explored how our eyes and brain can sometimes interpret images in surprising ways. Both classes showed great teamwork, curiosity and scientific thinking throughout the process. We are very proud of all the pupils for their excellent effort and enthusiasm.
